A new appointment was made to the position of chairman of the Working Party on Azerbaijan in the WTO Secretariat

Ambassador Alparslan Acarsoy, Permanent Representative of Turkey to the World Trade Organization, was appointed as the Chairman of the Working Party on March 7, 2023. The Chair's visit to Azerbaijan is scheduled for April 26-28 of the current year. Within the framework of the visit, it is planned to hold meetings with the Head of the Commission on preparatory works for the accession of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the WTO, as well as with the heads of relevant state and academic institutions. During the meetings, it is planned to discuss Azerbaijan's WTO membership process, next steps and dates for the next meeting of the Working Party. The last meeting of the Working Party was held on July 28, 2017.
